Position Title: Website Content Manager
Reports to: President
Department: Marketing
Salary Range: Determined based on previous experience.
Hours Required: Full Time
People Supervised: Between 1 and 3.
Position Summary:
The Website Content Manager (WCM) is responsible for developing a website content strategy, crafting a schedule of content, and managing a team of writers by maintaining a content calendar and adhering to its deadlines.
In addition to writing, editing, proofreading, and copywriting site content, the WCM will also work with the technical team to improve the impact of content throughout the website and beyond.
Strong communication skills are a must, as the WCM will work closely other members of the organization. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing online marketing and social media campaigns.
Major Responsibilities
Develop content strategy for web properties.
Craft & maintain a master content calendar for all websites, newsletters, social media, and press releases.
Manage content creation, content writers, and enforce deadlines.
Write, edit, proofread, and copyright website, newsletter, social media, and press release content.
Manage search engine data within website content and conduct keyword research while writing posts.
Minor Responsibilities
Craft internal promotions with marketing department.
Write and publish regular email newsletters.
Manage costs of content and confirm accuracy of invoiced word counts.
Manage user content contributions, such as comments.
Manage translators. Ensure content is unique and accurate.
Train writers to understand the full process of publishing assigned content.
Participate in communities where our audience already gathers.
Answer “Yahoo! Answers” questions.
Use Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ to share posts & find new connections.
